70's Groove

Life is finally settling down a bit and i can get focused on my creative grind again.  Why is it that moving seems to be the most stressful thing in life? It gives me so much anxiety between packing and the actual physical move to having your new house look like a tornado scene until you finally get everything unpacked again.  Everything is slowly coming together and starting to feel like home again, which means i can finally breathe and stop stressing the F out.

On another note here are some of the final images from my collab with Tobi.   I contacted my friend Erin when i was getting started with this project with the general idea and little mood board i had.  She had the perfect place in mind and her vision came out amazing as always.  It's always fun working with another creative mind and trusting in their ideas, i'm never disappointed with shoots with my ErBear.  Plus how amazing does anything shot during golden hour turn out?!

Summer in the Poconos

Three blondes, a honda civic, a camera, and some champagne.  What more do you need to create some amazing memories with you buds and say goodbye to summer.  The weekend in the poconos is one of my most prized summer trip memories. And rather than me ranting on and on of everything we did, here's a quick list of some of the crazy yet amazing moments we had.

1. Hiked some beautiful trails to these gorgeous waterfalls pictured above

2.  Realized we had no other music once the radio cut out except for an 80's mix CD i had in the car from my dad (thanks Gary!)

3. Got lost trying to find an abandoned road (ironic) and ended up taking my civic off roading

4.  Hiked to the top of a mountain during golden hour (popped champagne in honor of making it up before sunset)

5.  Got stuck hiking back down post sunset (with no flashlight because why would anyone pack a flashlight to go camping)

6.  Danced with older women we just met in a dive bar to some serious throw back jams

7.  Slept in my little civic in a clearing off the road because we never made arrangements at a campsite (oops)

8.  Woke up at sunset to shoot at our fave waterfall from the day before

9.  Played endless car games the entire way home to try and stay awake (tip: the alphabet game can get competitive...beware)

Some weekends are just so so good.

Until the next adventure,

Calling All Honeymooners

Exploring what once was in a time where it is no longer. Imagining the life the buildings once had and the stories and secrets that they held.  Escaping your own reality and submerging yourself into another.  Abandoned to stand still and alone and slowly forgotten.

Good lawddddd I love me an adventure, and if it looks anything like the day pictured above I am one happy gal.  I have quite the fascination for abandoned spaces.  Not just warehouses or old buildings in city outskirts, but truly forgotten places.  When Erin asked if I'd be interested in visiting an abandoned honeymoon resort I couldn't get the word "duh" out fast enough.  Walking around I could just picture this place in all it's glory.  This hotel in it's prime must have been one hell of a site to see.  The space now has been trashed and raided with only a few rooms left partially in tact.  None the less you can get a good idea of what it must have been like to visit pre-graffiti days.  When i walk the grounds of a space like this my mind races with ideas of what it would have been like to live in that era and to have truly experienced all that once was.  That's the beauty of exploring a forgotten place, you only have your imagination to guide you through.

Fri-yay i have been waiting all week for you; time to let the weekend adventures commence.

Lets Talk About Shoes Baby

An old friend/ coworker contacted my friend Erin and I a few months ago with the idea to shoot some of the new Fall/Winter styles that were going to be coming out for Messeca.  Let me just say the quality of materials they use are AMAZING!! And I'm not just saying that for shits and giggles because I'm always one to buy just a cheap pair of booties and wear them to death anyday.  These boots however have made me realize all the wrong i was doing by not looking at quality first.  My spending techniques have officially been changed since playing with these bad boys.

Above are some of my favorite shots from the shoot.  (Follow Messeca over at @messecanyc for more photos from the shoot)  It was definitely interesting trying to focus on the shoes vs the clothing for once.  We styled the looks from the bottom up which is totally new for me. Once we started shooting everything seemed to just flow which is one of the main reasons I love working with Erin.  I understand what she's telling me before she says it and vise versa (sending computer high fives over to you Er Bear).  We couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out and an even greater feeling knowing that Casey loved the outcome!  Miss Casey you are doing one hell of a job over at Messeca and we can't wait to see what else you come up with!

On that note....happy friYAY babes!
