70's Groove

Life is finally settling down a bit and i can get focused on my creative grind again.  Why is it that moving seems to be the most stressful thing in life? It gives me so much anxiety between packing and the actual physical move to having your new house look like a tornado scene until you finally get everything unpacked again.  Everything is slowly coming together and starting to feel like home again, which means i can finally breathe and stop stressing the F out.

On another note here are some of the final images from my collab with Tobi.   I contacted my friend Erin when i was getting started with this project with the general idea and little mood board i had.  She had the perfect place in mind and her vision came out amazing as always.  It's always fun working with another creative mind and trusting in their ideas, i'm never disappointed with shoots with my ErBear.  Plus how amazing does anything shot during golden hour turn out?!

abandoned beauty

Does anyone else have the same obsession with abandoned places as I do?  Well actually anything "decaying" pulls me right in.  I've always found it inspiring how beautiful something that has been forgotten can look.

With the day off my friend Erin and I decided to take a trip to this abandoned mansion we stumbled upon.  We weren't even sure what we were going to get into once we got there.  "Can we get in?" "Did they close it up already?" We started exploring around the gardens which are open to the public.  Once we got up to the mansion the thrill of walking through the boarded up and closed off property took over.  We rushed around the house from room to room exploring all the nooks and crannies.  It makes you stop and think of what it must have looked like when the house was in its prime and being lived in with a family.  There were multiple kitchens, living rooms, and dining rooms.  Maid's courters with separate servant stair cases.  The entry had a grand staircase that lead up to room after room after room.  Our favorite room in the back had walls with pealing paint and beautiful French doors that lead to a sun room.  The sun room was equipped with a cage elevator and completely surrounded by windows that were slowly being overtaken with ivy.

This location was seriously a dream.  We spent a few hours there with the whole house as our private playground.  Days spent like this with so much creativity and adventure remind me to always take time to do what makes you happy.

Until the next adventure babes

grateful

Forgive me for getting a little mooshy in this post but sometimes a girls gotta get some feelings and thoughts off her chest, ya dig?

Welp, life has seemed a little unfair lately.  Within the last month I've experienced a lot of loss, a feeling that is quite new to me.  When life is getting rough it makes you stop and think about everything around you.  I've never been a deep or very sentimental kind of person but boy have my eyes really opened up.  The things that once used to bother me seem so trivial in the scheme of things.  This has made me more motivated to be a kinder person and to wake up each day grateful for my health and happiness.  I have an amazing group of friends who have sent me so much love and I'm so thankful for everyone who has reached out to me.   I know this last month is just a little speed bumb in my life and the sadness I feel wont last forever.  If I've learned anything from these recent experiences it's to appreciate all the good you have in your life and to tell the people you love how much they mean to you.  Life really is so damn short and I plan on making the rest of mine remarkable.

lots and lots of love

P.S. I can't wait to dish out the story of this awesome abandoned mansion Erin and I discovered. Stay tuned babes!!
