Summer in the Poconos

Three blondes, a honda civic, a camera, and some champagne.  What more do you need to create some amazing memories with you buds and say goodbye to summer.  The weekend in the poconos is one of my most prized summer trip memories. And rather than me ranting on and on of everything we did, here's a quick list of some of the crazy yet amazing moments we had.

1. Hiked some beautiful trails to these gorgeous waterfalls pictured above

2.  Realized we had no other music once the radio cut out except for an 80's mix CD i had in the car from my dad (thanks Gary!)

3. Got lost trying to find an abandoned road (ironic) and ended up taking my civic off roading

4.  Hiked to the top of a mountain during golden hour (popped champagne in honor of making it up before sunset)

5.  Got stuck hiking back down post sunset (with no flashlight because why would anyone pack a flashlight to go camping)

6.  Danced with older women we just met in a dive bar to some serious throw back jams

7.  Slept in my little civic in a clearing off the road because we never made arrangements at a campsite (oops)

8.  Woke up at sunset to shoot at our fave waterfall from the day before

9.  Played endless car games the entire way home to try and stay awake (tip: the alphabet game can get competitive...beware)

Some weekends are just so so good.

Until the next adventure,

Sheer Goodness

I stumbled across this brand PYLO a few months ago and pretty much fell in love.  And by love I mean I'm kind of obsessed and want to spend all my dollars here.  This top/dress/sheer amazingness combo I got on is one of my fave pieces.  Its a body suit with a sheer slip attached over top...how perfect could a slip be.  I hate when I buy a sheer slip and I'm like WTF am I going to wear underneath this thing.  And then the thought "oh I could just go nude under this" crosses my mind, but then I guess that's not too street appropriate is it?...whatever.  I threw on shorts with this bad boy but you could easily throw on a little skirt and head out for the night in this as well.  The fact that it has a bodysuit attached sold me on this number when I was thinking of buying it.

Er bear and I got together one day after work to shoot this bad boy.  We played around in West Chester and I know you're probably thinking "oh the suburbs...that's cool...not."  But the town is actually really cute to explore if you're ever in the area.  We went on top of a parking garage and made some little kids uncomfortable until they left, and then shot around. The photos turned out better than I expected, and an even better end to the night was grabbing drinks afterwards.  Because who doesn't love sitting outside with frands drinking some cold brewskies.
With summer in full swing I'm outside every chance I get and I'll be counting down the minutes today until I can get my butt home and then down the shore for the weekend! Gotta love summers at the beach.

Chipping Away

It baffles me how fast this summer is flying by already.  I know it's only officially been summer for a day or so now, but the June rising temperatures have had me in this summer state of mind for weeks.  I have such a busy schedule over the next month or so.  We're in a crazy time of year for work.  On top of the late hours i've been working i've also been trying to cram as many activities into my social schedule as i can.  The last thing i want to do is stay inside on these gorgeous days we've been having.  After an awful winter, it's nice to be outside or out with friends no matter how humid it may be.  I've learned to appreciate the good months, because when winter rolls around i know i'll end up going into hibernation until the snow melts away.

Summer please slow down for me, i wish you would never end.

vacation vibes

Channeling vacation vibes in this overgrown garden oasis.  This dreamy spot is part of the gardens of the abandoned mansion I visited in my last post.  It's got me wishing I was in a tropical jungle sipping frozen drinks out of a coconut, and begging Tom to be my pretend pool boy and feed my grapes (I'll keep dreaming on that second part).  Speaking of vacations I seriously can not wait for September.  We booked ourselves a little getaway in Punta Cana.  Neither of us have ever been so feel free to leave travel tips /places to explore below.  Tom seriously makes the best vacation buddy, as long as he's got a cocktail and sunshine he's down for whatever.  For those of you who know him I know that may be hard to believe, but cha boy can be pretty laid back when we're vacationing.  Which works for me because I tend to have my own agenda and usually wind up forcing him to come on adventures with me.

Until then I want to fill my summer with as many trips/ getaways as I can.  Even if it's just finding hidden gems like this place above and spending the day exploring them.  I've lived in this city for almost 6 years now and I still feel like there is more for me to uncover and explore.
