Chipping Away

It baffles me how fast this summer is flying by already.  I know it's only officially been summer for a day or so now, but the June rising temperatures have had me in this summer state of mind for weeks.  I have such a busy schedule over the next month or so.  We're in a crazy time of year for work.  On top of the late hours i've been working i've also been trying to cram as many activities into my social schedule as i can.  The last thing i want to do is stay inside on these gorgeous days we've been having.  After an awful winter, it's nice to be outside or out with friends no matter how humid it may be.  I've learned to appreciate the good months, because when winter rolls around i know i'll end up going into hibernation until the snow melts away.

Summer please slow down for me, i wish you would never end.

overloaded

Erin and I were approached by an old friend and are going to be working on a fun project with her in the upcoming months.  Above are some play shots we took while scouting locations and getting our creative juices flowing.  We seem to have the same ideas for the most part which makes it so easy to work together.  Its great to work with someone you feel so comfortable around which makes the days spent working flow flawlessly.

Let me just take a second to talk about this skirt now.  I bought it maybe 3 years ago now from FP and it's one of my prized possessions. I look forward every year to bringing this bad boy out once the weather is in my favor.  It has rips and tears and the bottom looks as if i ombre'd it to brown; but i love it all the same.  I think the more ragged it gets the more attached i grow.

Between work, friends and family my schedule has been crazy.  Finding time to do the creative things I love was the whole reason I started this blog, and it seems to be the hardest one to keep up with. This weekend i fully plan on setting aside some time to get crafty in between all the crazy hustle and bustle that we all have going on.

white on white on spring

This weekend was like a snapshot out of a fairytale.  Philly is warming up and so are everyone's little Grinch hearts as we all thaw out from that brutal winter depression.  I've been saying almost every winter for the last two years "this will be the last winter i spend in Philly."  Then spring rolls on through and i fall in love with this city all over again.  We'll see if i can make it through yet another harsh snow storm or not, but in the meantime I'll be soaking in that almost summer sun.

This might be my favorite time of year by far.  Besides the fact that spring means my BIRTHDAY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER, I've also always loved the way the seasons change.  I find it beautiful the way one season decays into the beauty of the next.  Right now is that beautiful time of year when your driving up and down Kelly Drive with all the trees blossoming, and traffic all of a sudden isn't so bad.  It only lasts for a few weeks before the leaves grow in but that seems to make me appreciate it more.  It always reminds me of growing up, when our cherry weeping willow would bloom in the front yard and my mom would make us all get our family picture in front of it.  It was always a scramble to make sure we got one before all the petals fell away.  But I mean no one wants to disappoint their mamma dukes. Am I right?

Cheers to spring finally being in full swing, and to gorgeous white dresses that make being girly so much fun.
