Does anyone else have the same obsession with abandoned places as I do? Well actually anything "decaying" pulls me right in. I've always found it inspiring how beautiful something that has been forgotten can look.
With the day off my friend Erin and I decided to take a trip to this abandoned mansion we stumbled upon. We weren't even sure what we were going to get into once we got there. "Can we get in?" "Did they close it up already?" We started exploring around the gardens which are open to the public. Once we got up to the mansion the thrill of walking through the boarded up and closed off property took over. We rushed around the house from room to room exploring all the nooks and crannies. It makes you stop and think of what it must have looked like when the house was in its prime and being lived in with a family. There were multiple kitchens, living rooms, and dining rooms. Maid's courters with separate servant stair cases. The entry had a grand staircase that lead up to room after room after room. Our favorite room in the back had walls with pealing paint and beautiful French doors that lead to a sun room. The sun room was equipped with a cage elevator and completely surrounded by windows that were slowly being overtaken with ivy.
This location was seriously a dream. We spent a few hours there with the whole house as our private playground. Days spent like this with so much creativity and adventure remind me to always take time to do what makes you happy.
Until the next adventure babes
xx
